Dr Faryal Zehra is an extremely helpful supervisor and mentor who has taught me the purpose and experiences of her job as CEO of Little Helpers on the Run Organisation. As a young adolescent, I am still learning about the experiences and attitudes regarding nursing homes but she has continuously guided me in every right direction possible. Her contribution to the organisation plays an immense role, making a difference in peoples lives everyday. She ensures that I understand the circumstances and responsibilities by assessing my contribution to the activities provided. Stories of Impact

Little Helpers on the run and Casa Mia Nursing Home has been doing projects together for many years. I find Dr. Faryal is a great mentor to the kids that she has under her wing with Little Helpers on the Run. The Generational program that she has run for many years with many different homes and seniors, Bringing young and aged together for projects is wonderful. Her positivity and energy that she brings to it is amazing, specially the projects that we do for the Police, Nurses, Dignitaries, Teachers, Midwives, Firefighters, and many others. Expressing the gratitude and heartfelt thanks for their work for the community and the country. Through Art work such as Cards and Video messages, which she would edit and dispatch to the various services.

Dr Faryal’s inter generational programs has bought together young and residents to various activities, whether it is in arts and craft or sports activities.

Dr Faryal drive, determination, and vision for ‘Making the World a special place’ through Kindness is exemplary.

Meeting Dr Faryal many years ago, I saw a genuine curiosity in the well being of others. As a mentor and supervisor to my children, who have helped over the years with the charity, she has assisted them to become aware of the issues surrounding elderly clients. As the Coordinator of the Woodridge State High School Breakfast Club, I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Faryal and what she does for our students through her charity Little Helpers on the Run.

Dr Faryal not only has the heart and the vision for helping students from disadvantaged areas she acts on her convictions and has provided solutions that help in a meaningful way.

For us that means the supply of fresh fruit for our Breakfast Club. Dr Faryal coordinates her helpers to deliver fruit to our program every Monday which is in turn distributed to our students as part of a healthy breakfast.

Whilst this may seem something of little significance, it, in fact has a big impact on our students and their overall behaviour and performance in their classes. Studies have shown that students struggle to learn, keep focus and behave appropriately when they do not have a good breakfast.

Therefore, Dr Faryal’s contribution to our school community has the potential to change lives and cycles due to students being able to access their learning without having to worry about being hungry.

Dr Faryal’s dedication to our students well being is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed by our students who eagerly await the delivery every week. Her compassion and support for our school community and our program is something we value highly.
